Syeda Tahamina Akhter B.A (Hons) In English Literature  M.A In English Literature  Lecturer, English Department, Rajdhani High School, Sher-e-bangla Nagar, Dhaka - 1207 e-mail: [email protected] বন্ধুরা, ভাষা শিক্ষার এ আয়োজনে শুরতেই স্মরণ করি মাতৃভাষার দাবিতে প্রাণ দেয়া ভাষা শহীদদের। জানাই বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা। বাংলা আমাদের মাতৃভাষা কিন্তু পাশাপাশি ইংরেজি শিক্ষা এখন সময়ের দাবি। তোমাদের জন্য ইংরেজি শিক্ষার এ আয়োজন ‘ইংরেজির স্কুল’। আমি একদম শুরু থেকেই শুরু করছি। Letter: A character representing one or more of the sounds used in speech any of the symbols of an alphabet. Example: a,b,c,d………… Word: A single distinct combination of letters which creates a meaningful speech. Example: work,pen,book….. Sentence: A group of words that makes sense all by itself. A sentence always begins with a capital letter, ends with punctuation mark and contains subject and predicate. Example: I go to school. Subject: The person or thing in a sentence that dose an action. Example : I eat rice. Predicate: The part of the sentence that contains the action or state of being (Verb) Example: I eat rice. Object: The person of thing affected by the action of the subject. Example : I eat rice. Alphabet: An alphabet is a standard set of letters that is used to write one or more words. There are 26 letters in the group of alphabet. Vowel: Five of the 26 alphabet letters are called vowel. They are a,e,I,o,u. Consonant: The other 21 alphabet letters are called consonant. They are b,c,d………….. তোমাদের সবার জন্য রইল শুভ কামনা, আশা করি তোমরা থাকবে আমাদের এ আয়োজনের সাথে। আর ছোট্ট একটি আবেদন, পরিবেশ রক্ষায় সচেতন হও। অন্তত একটি করে বৃক্ষ রোপন কর।
