প্রীতি ও শুভেচ্ছা জানাবে। আশা করি সবাই ভাল। আজ আমরা তোমাদের জন্য Completing Sentence নিয়ে আলোচনা করব। Completing Sentence: যে কোন Incomplete sentence কে Complete Sentence এ পরিনত করতে এর অর্থ এবং নিয়মাবলীর দিকে লক্ষ্য রাখতে হবে। অর্থের সাথে সামঞ্জস্য রাখতে Incomplete sentence এ বিভিন্ন রকমের Conjunction : as, since , that, because, because of, in spite of, instead of, such as A_ev, Relative pronoun : who, whom, whose, what, when, where ইত্যাদি ব্যবহার করতে হয়। নিম্নে Incomplete sentence কে কিভাবে Completing Sentence এ পরিণত করা হয়েছে তা দেখানো হল:-
COMPLETING SENTENCES:
1. Complete the following sentences:
(a) United we stand ----------. (b) ------ know this wise saying? (c) Unless you are united, you -----. (d) The story of the old man and his sons teachers us ------. (e) It is high time we ----- .
Answer:
(a) United we stand , divided we fall.
(b) Don’t you/who does not/who do not know this wise saying?
(c) Unless you are united, you will fall/will not prosper/stand.
(d) The story of the old man and his sons teachers us that unity is strength/to be united.
(e) It is high time we got united/We became united/We learnt the lesson.
2. Complete the following sentences:
(a) I don’t like people who ----. (b) Do you know where -----? (c) It was long since ------ . (d) You will not prosper unless ----. (e) Had I been proposed to go ----.
Answer:
(a) I don’t like people who are idle.
(b) Do you know where he lives?
(c) It was long since I had met you.
(d) You will not prosper unless you work hard.
(e) Had I been proposed to go I would have gone there.
3. Complete the following sentences:
(a) Computer is one of the greatest ------.(b) It renders great -----.(c) A computer is a blessing -----.
(d) Though it is a blessing ----- . (e) We cannot help ---
Answer:
(a) Computer is one of the greatest wonders of modern science.
(b) It renders great service to mankind.
(c) A computer is a blessing to human beings.
d) The story of the old man and his sons teachers us that unity is strength/to be united.
(e) It is high time we got united/We became united/We learnt the lesson.
2. Complete the following sentences:
