TOEFL

Mahathir Mahammud TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. It is a standardized test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enroll in English-speaking universities. The test itself is Internet based, with exam centers across Bangladesh that allow students to give the 4 hour long test. It is made up of four areas, similar to IELTS, Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. WHY TOEFL? Similar in almost all forms to IELTS, Universities in the US require TOEFL as a form of assessment for English Language ability. If you are thinking about applying to a University in the US, make sure to check whether the University exclusively requires TOEFL or not. TOEFL is not used by organizations to assess language skills. The test is measured from 0-120, with 80+ being considered good marks by most Universities. The fee for taking the test in Bangladesh is around BDT 13,000. The test can be taken anytime, although after giving the test once, there is a 12 day waiting period before another can be given.
