A sentence is started with a capital letter and ends with a puntuation mark (./?/!) Kind : As per of kind, Sentence is divided into two groups - 1.Formative 2.Structural. 1. Formative Sentence : Formative means the formation of sentence. It is divided into five kinds and they are - a. Assertive , b.Interrogative , c.Imperative , d. Optative and e. Exclamatory. a. Assertive : The sentence which narrates or explain something is called an Assertive sentence. Example : I eat rice. (In this sentence the subject ÔIÕ is explaining that he is eating rice.) b.Interrogative: The sentence which interrogates or asks question is called an Interrogative sentence. Example: Where is my pen ? (In this sentence the subject ÔmyÕ is asking where his pen is) * Note of Interrogation is a must at the end of an Interrogative sentence . c.Imperative: The sentence which gives an order or request or advise or forbid or instruction and vice versa is called an Imperative sentence .Example : Never tell a lie . (In this sentence the person is being advised not to tell a lie.) * In an Imperative sentence ÔsubjectÕ is always unmentioned and in most of the case the sentence starts with ÔVerb to doÕ expressing order/request/advise/forbid and vice versa d.Optative: The sentence which indicates prayer or wish is called an Optative sentence. Example: May you be blessed.( In this sentence the speaker is blessing to the person spoken to.) e.Exclamatory: The sentence which expresses sudden happiness, surprise, shock, sadness and vice versa is called an Exclamatory sentence. Example: Hwo beautiful the bird is ! ( In this sentence the speaker is expressing itÕs happiness saying the bird is very beautiful) * exclamatory sentence starts with how/what an ends with the Note of Exclamation. In an exclamatory sentence the word ÔveryÕ is expressed with how/ what and it stands before the subject and the verb stands at the end. বন্ধুরা, পরিবেশ রক্ষায় সচেতন হও, একটি করে গাছ লাগাও।
